Routes Europe Comes to Antalya
Routes Europe Comes to Antalya
At a ceremony held during Routes
Europe 2026 in Italy (May 18–20),
Fraport TAV Antalya Airport officially took
over hosting duties for Routes Europe from the previous host, Rimini
(representing the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Municipality of Rimini, and Rimini
& San Marino International Airport).
Held in a different city each
year, Routes Europe brings together senior decision-makers from airlines,
airports, and tourism authorities to support the development of flight routes
across Europe and the surrounding regions. The 2027 event in Antalya is expected
to facilitate over 5,000 meetings among industry leaders and pave the way for
strong partnerships that foster sustainable growth in air travel.
Having set a historic record by
welcoming 39.2 million passengers in 2025, Antalya Airport has once again
demonstrated its pivotal role in supporting the region's booming tourism
sector. By hosting Routes Europe 2027, the airport will have the opportunity to
showcase Antalya to the European aviation community not merely as a summer
destination, but as a location worth visiting throughout the year.
Routes Europe, which regularly
unites Europe’s route development community, has a long-standing track record
of success in the aviation industry; notably, more than half of all new air
routes launched in Europe originate from discussions held at this event. The
Routes Europe 2027 event in Antalya is expected to draw significant
participation from senior executives representing airports and tourism
authorities, alongside 120 of Europe’s leading airlines.
